The Wuhan Virus first hit the United States at the end of January. It was quickly renamed The Corona Virus or COVID-19. The WHO and China felt that the Wuhan part was offensive so they pushed for it to not be referred to in that way. Problem solved. Every once and a while people still refer to it as the Wuhan virus as that is where it originated. But now it appears Kamala Harris is publically speaking out against The Corona Virus being called the Wuhan Virus as that is somehow anti-Asian…I feel she may be a little late to the party on this one.
“Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., introduced a resolution condemning “anti-Asian sentiment as related to COVID-19,” including use of the phrase “Wuhan Virus.”
“Harris introduced the resolution on Thursday, joined by fellow Democratic senators Tammy Duckworth of Illinois and Mazie Hirono of Hawaii. It aims to “condemn and denounce anti-Asian sentiment, racism, discrimination, and religious intolerance” related to the coronavirus, and specifically cites phrases such as “Wuhan virus,” “Chinese virus,” and “Kung-flu.” It also calls on federal officials to “expeditiously investigate and document” credible reports of hate crimes or threats against the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities and “investigate and prosecute perpetrators” if necessary.”
The resolution claims a study found over 400 cases of anti-Asian discrimination related to COVID-19 between February 7 and March 9.
“Inflammatory and racist rhetoric from officials at the highest level of our government has contributed to a disturbing rise in hate-crimes targeting Asian Americans,” said Hirono.”
But Wuhan is not a slur or even anything remotely offensive. It just happens to be where this virus originated. The discrimination is based on fear. Some Americans were clearly afraid of their Chinese-American neighbors, which is kind of understandable considering where the virus originated. But Harris here is going overboard. It’s not the name Wuhan Virus that is causing all of the trouble, it’s fear of the virus itself.
Guess she would really object to her given name by the people, camelbreath Harris. I don’t listen to this quack, she is indoctrinated with commie Ideology, and speak.
There is no “anti-Asian” sentiment. There ought, logically, to be some consideration of the fact that the virus was, either, a serious, tragic error by those who were researching it, or it was a bio-weapon being used by a government with a long history of actions, including war, against non-communist neighbors. This government happens to be Chinese, for purposes of identification. The idea of whether we should discriminate on the basis of the actions of this government has nothing to do with Chinese ethnicity or the yellow race. It has to do with the policy which permitted or caused the spread of the virus. The damage is done.
John, just one correction to your comment. There is no “yellow race”. Genetically we are all the same race with different levels of Brown tint in our skin. Some are darker and some or lighter skinned, but we are all of one race. Otherwise, you comment is factual.
The Wuhan virus came from China, so it is also a Chinese Virus or, not inappropriately China Virus. COVID (Chinese Originated Virus Identified Definitely). Kamala – it’s called “free speech” or factual information.

The coronavirus was already here in November 2019. Anyone that went to their doctor was told that the doctors did not know what it was, but gave them some meds that did little or nothing. Most of them toughed it out and went back to work. When the politicians and their “experts” founds out about this it was already in the last of January and then we had a slew of computer models put out by various idiots and some of the dumbest pronouncements about how many were going to die that have been broadcast in the last 80 years. The whole nation was led around by the nose for the past few months and the little would be tyrants that are governors, especially those that are the heathen
types, did everything in their power t close the places of worship. Probably because they had some dim idea they could thwart GOD’S plans. Now they are all looking like dolts and they and their experts turn out to be a bunch of liars.
