In the age-old battle for personal space on planes, one young woman has come up with a sneaky way to get revenge on those who dare to recline their seats too far back. And it’s causing quite a stir online.
According to Nova radio hosts Fitzy and Wippa, the female frequent flyer is tired of inconsiderate passengers who recline their chairs, encroaching on her already limited personal space. So, she’s devised a “purely evil” way to get back at them: swiveling the air-con vent on the top of her chair and blasting it in the face of the person behind her.
“That’s a belter and they can’t complain,” an impressed Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald said. Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli said the woman had “outdone herself” with this creative trick to punish people who recline their seats too far back on the plane.

However, not everyone is on board with this crafty revenge tactic. Some people argue that it’s their right to recline their seats, as they paid for the feature.
“It’s rude to recline the plane chair that I paid for??? This is news to me,” a female school teacher wrote.
“There is no way I am going to travel my whole flight in the upright position,” another woman said.
Others even went so far as to say that the woman’s “punishment” would actually be a welcomed breeze of fresh air.
“I paid for my seat, I’ll recline my chair (so much more comfortable) and would absolutely love you to share some of that air con with me, buddy,” one man said.
“The air-con on planes sucks. I would happily take a second one,” another woman said.
Despite the online debate, the age-old question remains: to recline or not to recline? While it’s true that passengers have the right to recline their seats, it’s important to be mindful of the person behind them. Reclining too far back can make traveling uncomfortable for everyone involved.
Perhaps the real solution is to do away with the reclining feature altogether. As one woman suggested, it’s a relic from a time when there was more space on planes. Nowadays, there simply isn’t enough room for it to be a viable option.
In any case, it’s clear that personal space on planes is a hot-button issue that’s not going away anytime soon. And while some may see swiveling the air-con vent as an act of revenge, others may see it as a welcomed breath of fresh air in an otherwise cramped space.
