He Crashed His Car On A Golf Course, His Excuse For The Accident Is For The….

Not only that GPS is extremely easy to navigate as it tells you directions for every turn, but it is also taking you to reach your destination. It also helps you to look for nearby restaurants, hotels, and gas stations and is extremely useful for a replacement place.

However, sometimes GPS may fail thanks to certain reasons, and therein case you would like to hold a backup map and directions. The GPS signals aren’t accurate thanks to some obstacles to signals like buildings, trees, and sometimes extreme atmospheric conditions like geomagnetic storms. This ought to make everyone with a GPS think twice about relying on it for too much information.

Now, a driver of an SUV who got stuck in Brae Burn Country Club in Newton, Massachusetts, told police that he was following the Waze navigation app on his phone. Officers noted no signs of impairment in the driver, who will not face any charges.

It was reported that the black SUV that the said driver drove onto the country club golf course became trapped on the edge of the rise. The driver blames the navigation software for leading them onto the course and toward the location where they ultimately became stranded. A new hazard was then put in place overnight and as the sun rose over the golf course—authorities then investigate the place.

“It was pitch-black out when he was driving and took one of the turns too wide and got stuck,” police said.

The country club personnel led the police to the sixth hole where they showed the authorities the abandoned SUV that was teetering along the crest, according to the incident’s police record.

Officers asked the driver how he got to the center of the golf course and what caused it. After leaving off pals at around two in the morning, the driver told police that he was using the Waze navigation program on his phone to guide him. He ended up on the golf course by driving past a fence and a no-trespassing sign.

Officers noted that they did not smell any odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver, did not observe any slurred speech and his eyes were not red. The SUV was towed off the golf course and country club staff told police the landscaping was not damaged. The driver will not face any charges.

Despite the driver driving into their course in the middle of the night, the golf course did not file charges against him. Because the SUV did not damage the landscape on the golf course, as the country club staff confirmed.

“When the officers go there. One of the concerns is always is somebody drinking or something like that. They found no indication of any kind of impairment. I’ve been with the police department for thirty-seven years, and I’ve never a car quite like this. Sometimes a vehicle may end up somewhere on purpose, but to have somebody’s GPS take them to a golf course and to end up on hole number six, that’s quite unusual,” said Lt. Bruce Apotheker of the Newton Police Department.
