Imagine hearing some noises come from your young teen daughter’s room in the early morning hours and then upon opening the door you see a 20-year-old man doing god knows what to her. That is the scenario that Ismael Casillas found himself in, so he did what any caring father does and beat the crap out of him and when he tried to get away he chased him and continued the beat down. But when the pedophile started running away, police say Casillas went too far when he fired at him and now Casillas is finding himself in hot water with the law.
“A Coweta County father is under arrest for aggravated assault after what he did to a man he found in his 14-year-old daughter’s bedroom.
Investigators say they are sympathetic with the dad’s anger, which included knocking out some teeth, but say he crossed a legal line when firing shots as the man ran away down the street.
A lot of fathers might say they would do the same thing Ismael Casillas did when he found that man inside his daughter’s bedroom. That is to beat the man bloody. But investigators say there is a limit, a line, that even a lenient Georgia law allows for homeowners defending their families.”
“There is a line that he can’t cross, we can’t cross, when somebody is no longer a threat to you,’ said investigator Scott Kilgore. ‘My advice would be let it go and contact us and let us handle it. Don’t take it into your own hands.’
Keywontrezes Humphries, who goes by the nickname ‘Man Man,’ was also arrested and charged with child molestation for allegedly being in a sexual relationship with the 14-year-old.
He could face additional charges as the investigation continues.”
The family has opened a GoFundMe account to cover upcoming legal expenses.
Really though Humphries is lucky to be alive. He was in the bedroom of a child and knew better than to be there. If anything it seems Casillas showed some restraint, many fathers would likely have made Humphries disappear for good.
