Chicago has been in a state of lawlessness for a while now and Mayor Lightfoot refused to ask for help. It was so bad there that Chicago Fraternal Order of Police President, John Catanzara, took it upon himself to send a letter to the president asking for help. Lightfoot was of course furious as she doesn’t want the president’s help regardless of what her constituent’s needs are. Catanzara claims she was just being childish and pathetic.
“During a conversation with Ingraham, Catanzara called the Chicago mayor “unhinged” and said that her refusal to request federal assistance from the Trump administration was irresponsible. Catanzara himself wrote a letter to Trump requesting federal assistance amid the never-ending crime wave sweeping the city.
Lightfoot has previously said that any federal intervention would cause “chaos” and “lawlessness.”
“The mayor likes to use the word ‘unhinged,’ but the ironic part is the mayor became unhinged,” Catanzara railed. “I wish I could show you the text messages that she sent me over the weekend as soon as she found out I sent the request to President Trump.”
He added, “She was the one who totally became unhinged, unprofessional, childish, and it was really pathetic for the leader of a city.”
Mayor Lightfoot is now on board, I guess she was just too prideful to ask for help herself despite it being her job to do what is best for her constituents.
“Lightfoot said the federal agents will work alongside Chicago Police Department officers which is not unprecedented, and unlike in Portland, the U.S. attorney for the northern district of Illinois, John Lausch, will help.
CPD Superintendent David Brown says he welcomes the extra manpower but president of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police John Catanzara wasn’t so diplomatic.
“She endorses and supports that now,” he said. “Why didn’t she ask for that a while ago? Because she’s too proud and too arrogant to ask for any help from President Trump even though he repeatedly offered it to you. But now all of a sudden it’s a good idea. Well, at least she’s finally come to the table and admitted she has no control over this.”
I guess better late than never… These Libs need to stop with the B.S. and accept that Trump is their president even if he has opposing views. We are the United States of America for God’s sake. Our differences are what makes this country great, we are not supposed to hate each other over a difference of opinion. Lightfoot here needs to start stepping up. She is a public servant and needs to remember that she is supposed to be serving the people to the best of her ability, refusing to ask Trump for help when her city is in turmoil is just plain negligent.
