Protesters have been emboldened by these weak liberal leaders who are not doing enough to take charge and in many cases are slashing the budget of the very people needed to help quell the violence. Chicago erupted in violence Sunday night over the shooting of Latrell Allen who was shot and killed by the police during a shootout. It was a clean shoot but protesters were immediately enraged and caused at least 60 million dollars in damages to the city, which they claim is reparations.
“This was not an organized protest. Rather, this was an incident of pure criminality,” Police Superintendent David Brown told reporters. “This was an act of violence against our police officers and against our city.”
Black Lives Matter organizer, Ariel Atkins claimed the looting and vandalism was justified.
“I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that makes sure that person eats,” Atkins said, WMAQ-TV reported. “That makes sure that person has clothes.”3
“That is reparations,” Atkins added. “Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance.”
“…Black Lives Matter Chicago released a statement Monday warning that unrest will continue until “the safety and well-being of our communities is finally prioritized.”
“The mayor clearly has not learned anything since May, and she would be wise to understand that the people will keep rising up until the [Chicago Police Department] is abolished and our Black communities are fully invested in,” the group said, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
This is clearly above Mayor Lightfoot’s ability, she should ask for federal aid as these are not Americans peacefully protesting. These are violent rioters that should never be tolerated. Everyday BLM proves that they are nothing more than criminals.
