There is civil unrest across the country with protests still sprouting up in major cities. But Seattle has to take the cake for just letting things get out of hand. They allowed these “peaceful protesters” to seize part of Seattle and keep it. The mayor called off the police and just let it happen. Can you imagine owning a business in that area or any part of Seattle and seeing your elected leader just allowing chaos to reign? I think it would be an obvious time to get out of Dodge if you can afford it. The leadership in Seattle is definitely failing its lawful citizens allowing this to happen. So it only makes sense that a billion-dollar investment firm is moving to Pheonix, Arizona.
“The CEO of a billion-dollar investment firm said his company is getting out of Seattle just in time as residents accuse Mayor Jenny Durkan of letting the city’s so-called Capitol Hill Occupied Protest get out of hand and turn deadly.
“The unrest that has taken place in the city of Seattle … there is really is not a downtown business community today,” Smead Capital Management President and CEO Cole Smead told KTAR News on Monday.”
“We’re hearing rumors of 40-story buildings that will be only 20-percent occupied by October,” Smead said.
“My biggest concern for Seattle was what the business community is going to come back to, and what kind of businesses are going to come back for customers.”
“Phoenix will offer Smead Capital employees a lower cost of living and a better quality of life, Smead said.”
It sounds like the better move all around. I mean what is Seattle really offering here? Why would anyone with the means to leave, stay, when a part of Seattle has become lawless and the police are being told to just let them have at it. This CHOP zone should never have happened. Peaceful protesters don’t take over parts of cities…Those are criminals. Liberal leaders need to let the police do their jobs and protect their communities.
I hope they leave their stupid voting habits in Washington and not screw up Arizona.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t happen. They bring the same crap with them. That is what happened to Colorado. They are a cancer that metastasizes to other areas of the country.
They won’t. I actually remember a time when California was somewhat conservative! Now it’s full fledged COMMUNIST!
Look on the bright side, when the place looks like Dresden, Germany after WWII, great opportunity for real estate investors using our tax dollars to rebuild the place, or, make it into a flower garden for all the old hippies who live there.
Seattle will be the new home of the “hole in the wall” gangs. Tourism is plummeting and there is going to be a shortage of funds for the pigs that run the city. Too bad. Now we will get to endure a load of bailout money that will somehow slip by elected GOP congressmen who will get their cut to rebuild anarchy.
For those who wish to point out that the article was about Seattle Washington, I am aware of that. I am also aware that the entire west coast and most of the east coast have gone to the dark side, as has numerous gulf state and interior states. Maybe, just maybe parents need to quit sending their children to the numerous communist schools which spout freedom to pursue an unbias education. You know, or should know, their names. Time for a resurge of the “Tea Party’s”.
There is a cost to democrat rule. It will be paid by the citizens that haven’t left Seattle.
