Biden is so afraid of freedom protesters that he has ordered a fence be built around the Capitol ahead of his State of the Union speech on Tuesday. Not just any fence, Oh no… That would be too ‘normal’. The Biden administration and Democrats have ordered a fence similar to the one installed following the January 6th protest.
Law enforcement officials in Washington, D.C., have reinstalled a perimeter fence around the U.S. Capitol “out of an abundance of caution”, WashingtonTimes reported.
The metal fence with concrete barricades should be complete by the time Biden gives his address and is in full anticipation of the Freedom COvoy protesters.
“In light of the upcoming State of the Union Address, and the possibility of demonstrations in the next couple of weeks, we have been working closely with our federal, state and local law enforcement partners on a security plan to prevent any disruption to the important work of Congress,” U.S. Capitol Police Chief Thomas J. Manger said Sunday in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, and in conjunction with the United States Secret Service, a plan has been approved to put up the inner-perimeter fence around the Capitol building for the State of the Union Address.”
In addition to the fencing, 700 National Guard troops will be ready to assist, should they be needed to help control demonstrations or trucker protests.
Capitol Police announced earlier this month that agencies were “aware of plans for a series of truck convoys arriving in Washington, DC around the time of the State of the Union” and were planning for extra security. The agency said at the time that resurrecting the fence around the Capitol building remained an option, but emphasized that a decision had not been made.
It seems like overkill. I don’t think it’s weird to build a fence for security purposes but this thing? The administrations’ anxiety is based on Canada’s protesters—Which were peaceful.
