An Ax Wielding Maniac Started Smashing Their Window Just Inches From A Sleeping Baby! [VIDEO]

This is the terrifying moment a pickaxe-wielding woman smashed through the windows of her neighbor’s Pasadena home just inches from a newborn baby.

The home’s owner, Arman Tchoukadarian, said his mother-in-law was watching his newborn daughter when the woman approached the home with the axe. The grandmother was able to grab the baby from beneath a front window just moments before the woman outside smashed through it.

“My mother-in-law’s first instinct was to grab the baby,” said Tchoukadarian. “Two seconds later, all you see is huge shards of glass in the bassinet where she would be. It was miracle she reacted fast enough or else my daughter would be dead.”

The woman was later identified as Beverly Baker, she was detained on Tuesday, October 25, in Pasadena, California. The 65-year-old, who was allegedly in a mental health crisis at the time, was charged on Wednesday, October 26, according to police authorities.

Baker was taken into custody after a 30-minute standoff.

“Everyone’s still shaken up,” said Tchoukadarian. “We built this house from scratch. We put all our savings into this house because it’s a nice neighborhood. We grew up here, and this is how we get welcomed to the neighborhood.”

Tchoukadarian says that Baker owns multiple properties in the area but that he had never seen her before. He fears he was the target of a racist attack because he is Armenian, but police are yet to confirm the woman’s motive. Records show that Baker owns a $1 million home across the street from where the family lives with one of her children and family.

Los Angeles has witnessed a rise in violent crime where the numbers have gone up to 4.2%. Tchoukadarian feels that his family has “lost their safe place” after the incident, the homeowner also calculated about $20,000 worth of damage due to the attack.
