A Thug Tried To Carjack An 82yr Old Man, He Never Thought Grandpa Would Fight Back…

The sad reality is that some people prey on seniors.

Elderly people in rural areas are the most vulnerable when it comes to thieves.

There are various reasons why our elders are such easy prey for thieves. As older adults become more physically frail, they’re less able to take care of themselves, stand up to bullying, or fight back if attacked.

However, an armed man in Atlanta thinks that he’ll be lucky for eyeing the elderly man’s car in a gas station in Atlanta, Georgia, as the 82-year-old was pumping gas, he thought that the senior would comply because the would-be carjacker wielding a gun but things just turned upside down when the elderly man fights back!

According to the Blaze, the elderly victim was approached by the suspect while pumping gas at the Chevron station on McDonough Boulevard in southeast Atlanta at around 2:30 in the afternoon.

The suspect was captured on video, watching people at the pumps before approaching the elderly man and demanding his keys

During an interview with WAGA-TV, the elderly man recalled, he said that “As I put my gas nozzle back and was getting ready to get in the car, I turned around, and he was there with a gun in his pants and showed part of it.”

“I thought he was going to shoot me, he just said, ‘Give it up,’ and I asked ‘To give what up?’ and he said, ‘You know what I’m talking about. Give me them keys, ” The victim added.

The victim is seen in surveillance video footage hurriedly grabbing medical records from the front seat of his car, appearing to initially comply with the gunman’s request when he saw an opportunity and everything changed.

He said, ‘OK and you need to hurry up, I saw he wasn’t looking and I grabbed his arm with the gun in it and we started ‘tussling’ and we hit the ground,” he said.

Atlanta Police Department

At one point the surveillance video shows the gun being tossed in the other direction.

However, during the scuffle, the suspect was able to gain the upper hand and break free.

“He grabbed the gun again and he pointed it at me and said ‘do you want me to shoot you? Don’t make me shoot you man.’ I said ‘Please don’t shoot me man’. I backed off and ran into the store,” the victim said.

While the victim ran inside for help the would-be robber tried to take off in the car but had no luck.

Oh it scared me! It scared me. I thought he was going to shoot me,” the victim added.

The victim continued saying, “They are getting desperate. That’s what they are changing to the most vulnerable people now, I’m just glad to be alive.”

Police believe the suspect has dreadlocks and could be 17 or 18 years old.

Respecting our elders should be a courtesy ingrained in every one of us. Common grace and manners are to treat elders with dignity and respect but this young man apparently he had no respect for their elders. All thanks to this Elder’s courage in standing up for himself.
