They Tried For A Girl One Last Time, What They Ended Up With Will…

In a twist of fate, one family’s pursuit of a daughter leads to an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime journey that defies all expectations.

Eager to add a daughter to their family, Joshua, and Megan Hulen were over the moon when they discovered they were expecting again. Little did they know that their lives would change dramatically as they embarked on an incredible journey.

The couple was astounded when doctors informed them that Megan wasn’t just carrying one baby, but five! Suddenly, their family of four was set to become a family of nine, which brought both excitement and anxiety.

Megan clarified during an interview with WKRG that the quintuplets were not the result of IVF, nor were they conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, the pregnancy had started before the pandemic, enabling Joshua to attend some early appointments with his wife, which helped strengthen their bond in preparation for the challenges that lay ahead.

With two sons already, aged seven and two, the Hulens had hoped for a girl, but they never imagined they would be blessed with five babies at once. After initial fertility treatments were halted due to complications, they were astonished to learn about the quintuplets during their six-week ultrasound.

Joshua described the revelation as “shocking, exciting, and terrifying all at once.” The quintuplets, Chloe, Adam, Emma, Allison, and Madison, were born on September 2nd, at 32 weeks. Both parents agreed that the experience was “miraculous but overwhelming.”

The rarity of the pregnancy astounded even the medical professionals involved. Megan explained that they initially thought there would be fewer babies, but subsequent ultrasounds revealed all five heartbeats. With odds of one in 43 million, this pregnancy marked the first quintuplet birth in North Dakota.

The couple’s oldest child, Jacob, expressed his excitement about his unique family, stating, “I’m glad to be home, and it’s just amazing because you know, this has never happened.”

Despite the challenges ahead, Megan and Joshua are grateful for their large family.

“We’re super excited and happy to have a big family. It’s bigger than what we anticipated, but…we’re blessed, and we’re happy about it,” Megan said. Joshua chimed in, “Absolutely. And at some point in the future, when we get to sleep again, we’ll be thankful for that too.”
