Democrats are desperately trying to separate themselves from their failed ‘defund the police’ policies. During his State of The Union address, Biden implied that the Democratic party is the law and order party when absolutely nothing could be farther from the truth. Democrats can claim whatever they want, the proof is in the numbers.
As of January 2022, over 60 police officers in the United States have been shot while on duty in the first two months of 2022, according to the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), as violent crime continues to plague many cities across the country.
The FOP reports 67 officers were shot in the line of duty so far in 2022, a 40 percent increase from 2021 year-to-date; and a 76 percent increase from 2020 year-to-date. Of the 67 officers who were shot, 9 of them were killed by gunfire.
There have been 13 ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers this year, resulting in 24 officers shot, with 4 being killed.

A new study from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) found line-of-duty cop deaths were up 55% in 2021 with 458 total deaths nationwide. At that time, officer deaths were the highest they had been since the 1930’s but 2022 is already on pace to beat out that horrific year.
Only 46 percent of Americans approved of Biden’s handling of crime in December, according to an ABC News/Ipsos poll, while 56 percent of voters in a January Fox News survey said Republicans would do a better job on the issue.
So of course, during his SOTU address, Biden addressed crime, “We should all agree the answer is not to defund the police. It’s to fund the police,” Biden said. “Fund them. Fund them with resources and training. Resources and training they need to protect their community.” He then referenced his ‘budget’ and asked for a bipartisan vote to fund his ‘build back better’ spending plan.
