I don’t think the folks at CNN have thought through the push to get Joe Biden into the White House. The Network was starved for ratings before President Trump stepped into office. They have quickly become liberal advocates instead of newscasters. What do they think will happen to them once Democrats don’t need them anymore?
In a weird panel with none other than creepy Don Lemon, a group of experts discussed how Republicans will be more willing to work with Joe Biden, unlike former President Obama. You know, because Joe is white. As if Republicans didn’t fight against Obama’s bad idea because they were, well, bad.
It was wrapped, misconstrued, and petty- after all this is CNN.
White House correspondent John Harwood briefly mentioned Obama’s race at the end of the segment a ready-and-willing Lemon pounced at the opportunity to turn policy-differences into race-issues:
The weird segment came after Lemon questioned if Biden would be able to work with Republicans successfully.
Lemon asked the panel if Joe would have an easier time reachining bipartisan agreements with Republicans.
Hardwood: “Well, I think your skepticism is well justified, and the record of the last 12 years is one of blowtorch opposition from Republicans to Democratic presidents. There are a couple of things that are different this time. First of all, though, Joe Biden is a white man. Barack Obama’s race played a role in the intensity of the grassroots and the opposition in Washington to what he was trying to do, so that makes a difference.”
He then added:
“And what we’ve seen is that many Republicans are willing to do the precisely the same thing. I think Joe Biden is going to set an entirely different tone. He’s fundamentally an honest person — he’s fundamentally a decent person. And we’ll see whether honesty and decency and rationality cuts any ice with some increment of Republican Senators necessary to get things done.”
Lauding Harwood’s analysis, Lemon responded:
Boy, what a great conversation this was, and, John, I’m glad you said that first part about Joe Biden being a white man. I didn’t want to go there, but, I mean, they feel like he’s one of them — he’s Joe, you know, from the old days, so maybe they may want to work with him. And if that’s the reason they work with him, then so be it. I hope it happens.
So, Republican representatives no longer have the same right to disagree on fundamental issues as Democrat. According to Lemon and his panel of creeps, it means they’re racist if the opposing side happens to be black.
Yeah, right…
