Rolling Stones Writer Claims The Term “Pro-Life” Is Tied To Racism

That’s a new angle for sure. Rolling Stones  senior writer Jamil Smith claims that the term “pro-life” is tied to racism and misogyny and feels that the movement is “killing us.” It seems like he has mistaken the terms. Pro-life means for life, he must be referring to the term pro-choice which is all about killing babies. But Smith was adamant that the term should be canceled.

He posted about it on Twitter.

“This point cannot be emphasized enough, or too often. The moniker “pro-life,” so often used in the service of not just misogyny but also racism, should be retired right along with Aunt Jemima and the “Redskins” team name.”
Smith was responding to a tweet from Rev. Dr. WIlliam J. Barber II who somehow tied corporate greed and white political power to the pro-life movement…
“Ironically, the governors most willing to watch their citizens die are the ones who have used “pro-life” rhetoric to compel people of faith to support the narrow interests of corporate greed & white political power. COVID has revealed how the “pro-life” movement is killing us.”

How is saving a baby corporate greed and white power? Nowhere in the pro-life movement does it claim that only white babies need to be saved. It’s a matter of all babies deserve the right to live. The corporate greed part makes even less sense. No one is forcing the parents to buy up a bunch of junk. Barber’s argument is just beyond flawed.

Smith’s point is equally ridiculous. What does a sports team that calls themselves the redskins, a nickname for Native Americans that is apparently no longer P.C., and a syrup that used a black woman for their logo have to do with the ideology that we should not be killing babies? There is no racism there. The misogyny bit is B.S. We don’t condone the elderly to euthanize themselves when they have terminal illnesses so why should we be for killing babies that did nothing wrong? Adults need to be responsible for their actions and wear contraceptives or keep it in their pants if they don’t want kids. Why is this so hard for libs to understand?
